The Ohio AAP’s newest quality improvement and regional education program will focus on improving the recognition, diagnosis, and management of atopic dermatitis (AD) in primary care settings. The multi-disciplinary expert project leadership team will give providers the necessary tools to manage all aspects of AD.

  • Kara Shah, MD, FAAP will provide dermatology focused education on best practices in AD management and patient adherence to treatment

  • Emily Harris, MD, FAAP will assist providers in improving their skills on the mental health implications of AD in pediatric patients

  • Chris Peltier, MD, FAAP will provide guidance on implementing Ohio AAP tools and best practices into primary care

 Training will offer 3 hours of CME/MOC Part 2 Credit, as well as resources for attendees. Training dates and locations include:

·         May 11 – Ann Arbor, MI (Kensington Hotel), 10 am – 1 pm

·         May 14 – Columbus, OH (OU Dublin location), 1 pm – 4 pm

·         May 20 – Cincinnati, OH (American Red Cross), 9 am – 12 pm

Following these presentations, practices from Ohio and surrounding states will be invited to engage in a one year practice transformation program, with quality improvement coaching from a practice coach and guidance from the project team. 50 Points of MOC Part IV and 20 Points of MOC Part II credit will be available with full participation in this project.
