Critical Care Building - New Bone Marrow Transplant Unit Will Feature Care, Comfort and Convenience - When the new Critical Care Building at Cincinnati Children’s opens on November 6, the 48-bed Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) unit will enhance our patient care capabilities while offering amenities and conveniences to provide more comfort for families and help them take care of their daily needs.

Update from Cincy Kids Health Connect - Cincinnati Children’s Urgent Care and Emergency Department volumes are rising significantly and many patients coming to our Emergency Department and Urgent Care are experiencing significant wait times or are leaving without being seen. With return to school, we expect that these visit volumes will continue to rise. 

In-Person Preview of the New Critical Care Building Cancelled, Updated to Virtual Format - The sneak peek of the new Critical Care Building has been cancelled due to Covid-19. Stay tuned for your invitation to the virtual ribbon cutting on September 27 at 9:30 am. A link to a online virtual tour will be available in late September.

Making Lab Visits Easier for Families - Visiting our labs just got easier. On June 1, we launched a new user-friendly tool called On My Way that lets patients and families find Cincinnati Children’s lab locations, view wait times, schedule appointments, or simply let the lab know that the patient is on the way. 

HealthVine Updates - Patients with complex medical and social needs that are HealthVine members may be eligible for care management services provided by HealthVine.

In Memorium - The Cincinnati community recently lost three much beloved pillars of pediatric care and research - Drs. James Heubi, George Hug, and Thomas Maloney.

New Drug Available in the Treatment of Peanut Allergies - PALFORZIA, an FDA approved drug used in the treatment of peanut allergy, is now available for oral immunotherapy (OIT) treatment at Cincinnati Children’s. Amal H. Assa’ad, MD, director of the Food Allergy Program, said that it is not a cure but can save lives.
