MCHAT - New Audiology Follow-up Process for High Risk Findings

In January, Audiology implemented a new follow-up process for patients that score high risk on the MCHAT.  As a result of feedback from the Community Physician Advisory Committee, the division has implemented direct communication to the primary care provider's office on a monthly basis regarding the recent high-risk findings.   A support staff member will contact the patient's provider to notify them of the high risk finding and document that communication in the patient’s chart. Providers will also continue to receive the consult letter outlining the outcomes of the audiology appointment.
