Free books for all children from birth to 5 years! – The Imagination Library is now available for all of Hamilton County through OGIL
On March 10, Ohio’s First Lady Fran DeWine came to Cincinnati Children’s to announce the launch of the Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library (OGIL) in Hamilton County. The Imagination Library was previously available only for children who lived in the Cincinnati Public School District and seen at Reach Out and Read practices. Through OGIL, all children in Hamilton County from birth to five years of age are now eligible to receive a free book in the mail each month! First Lady Fran DeWine has a goal to make the program available for children all over Ohio. Almost all of Ohio is currently covered. Clermont County is in the process of finalizing their participation. Parents and caregivers can enroll and learn more by visiting https://ohioimaginationlibrary.org/
Please remember to promote reading with preschoolers and encourage parents to enroll their children in the Imagination Library. While Cincinnati Children’s is administering the program in Hamilton County, OGIL is also available in Warren, Butler, and most southwestern counties in Ohio (Clermont County will be online soon). Imagination Library offers free, high quality, age-appropriate books, and there are no income restrictions for participants. The handout below is provided for use in your practices. Please feel free to post in your waiting rooms and hand out to families. Thank-you for helping us reach all eligible children in your practices!
