STAMP Clinic – STop Atopic March Progression Clinic

On July 15, a new multidisciplinary clinic with Allergy and Dermatology began seeing patients with eczema or actopic dermatitis.

What: New monthly multidisciplinary Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema) clinic, where the patient will see both an Allergist and Dermatologist.

Who: Infants with moderate-to-severe Atopic Dermatitis age 6 months and younger at time of referral. *Note: Parental or provider concern for concurrent food allergy or food-induced atopic dermatitis is not required, although these patients will be prioritized.

Why: Infants with moderate-to-severe Atopic Dermatitis have higher rates of food allergies. Early food introduction can mitigate this risk. Additionally, many parents pursue food restriction as a treatment for atopic dermatitis, which may be inappropriate.

How to refer: Refer infants with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis to CCHMC Dermatology for “Eczema” or “Atopic Dermatitis.” Infants age 6 months or younger with this referral reason will automatically go through a triage process to determine eligibility for the STAMP clinic. It is helpful to mark referrals as urgent and/or also include the keyword “STAMP” in the referral.

Note: Families cannot self-refer to this clinic. Parents or providers who want to follow-up on this referral should contact CCHMC Dermatology at 513-636-4215.
