Critical Care Building – on the way
The new Critical Care Building at Cincinnati Children’s is scheduled to open to patients, November 6, 2021. The new space (Location G) will add 632,500 square feet and contains 250 beds. This new space is the result of increased demand for our services that has been growing for years. Our inpatient census is nearly 40 percent greater than it was in 2010. At the same time, we have experienced significant increases in ED cases.
Specific Features will include the following:
Critical Care:
Neonatal Intensive Care
Pediatric Intensive Care
Complex Airway
Cardiac Intensive Care
Bone Marrow Transplant
Emergency Department
24-Hour Pharmacy
Embedded Imaging
Wet lab
Embedded CV and Fetal ORs
Support services such as Pharmacy, Laboratory, SPD, Nutrition, etc.
Embedded Child Life, OT/PT/Speech
Patient, Family, & Staff Support Space
Quiet areas, Gardens, Lounges
Each month we will feature updates and information on the new building to make sure you are well informed and feel connected the services and specialty care that is available for your patients.
