Hypermobility Clinic Re-Launched in Adolescent Medicine

The Cincinnati Children’s Hypermobility Clinic re-launched in fall 2024 within the Division of Adolescent and Transition Medicine, providing specialized care for patients ages 12–22 with symptoms of or a prior diagnosis of hypermobility disorders.

Since Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD) and Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) cannot be diagnosed before skeletal maturity, our clinic only treats patients 12 and older. Younger children can receive evaluations and treatment through Cincinnati Children’s Occupational and Physical Therapy services.

Hypermobility disorders present uniquely in each patient and often come with additional challenges. Our clinic offers seamless referrals to specialists who address a wide range of related conditions. By integrating the latest research with our expertise in adolescent development, we take a holistic approach—helping each patient achieve a more functional and fulfilling life.

A referral to Adolescent Medicine is required to schedule an appointment with the Hypermobility Clinic. Clinics are available at Anderson, Burnett, Fairfield, Green Township, and Liberty locations, with a new clinic opening at the Union Outpatient Center in May.
