Neighborhood and Clinical Updates
DISCOVERY Study - Risk Factors for Type 2 Diabetes - This is a multicenter U01 study (Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Healthworks!) that is designed to look at risk factors for Type 2 Diabetes. Additional details can be found on the study flyer. Inclusion criteria includes:
BMI ≥ 85th percentile
Elevated A1c (5.5-6.4%)
Tanner stage 2,3,4
Ages 8-13 for girls and 10-15 for boys (because of pubertal timelines)
Centerville - Our Centerville location is closing temporarily due to a construction issue that is allowing moisture into the building. While air quality testing confirms the building is safe, the moisture and humidity need to be fully addressed. To ensure a complete fix, the Centerville location closed on Friday, Aug. 8. The location will likely remain closed for several months for construction.
Cincinnati Children’s is contacting families directly to move their appointments to other locations, with every effort to keep the same date, time, and provider. If appropriate, some visits may be switched to telehealth. We hope you will help us inform families of the temporary closure.
We are committed to keeping every patient’s care on track and will alert you when this location returns to normal operations.
