Farewell to Sheila Perry, Eastside Liaison 

After a long and successful career at Cincinnati Children’s, Sheila Perry, RN, will retire on October 30, 2025. Over the past three years, Sheila has been a vital connection for providers and office staff on the Eastside. Her clinical expertise, vibrant personality, and can-do attitude will be deeply missed! 

Due to the current hiring freeze, a replacement won’t be immediate. In the meantime, please contact the following team members for support with day-to-day needs, issues, or requests:

Neighborhood and Clinical Updates

Eastgate - The new Cincinnati Children’s Eastgate location, located at 4315 Ivy Pointe Blvd, will open on Monday, November 3. The current Eastgate site will close at the end of business on Thursday, October 30. Anderson Township location will close after urgent care hours end at 11:00 PM on Friday, October 31.

DISCOVERY Study - Risk Factors for Type 2 Diabetes - This is a multicenter U01 study (Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Healthworks!) that is designed to look at risk factors for Type 2 Diabetes. Additional details can be found on the study flyer. Inclusion criteria includes: 

  • BMI ≥ 85th percentile

  • Elevated A1c (5.5-6.4%)

  • Tanner stage 2,3,4

  • Ages 8-13 for girls and 10-15 for boys (because of pubertal timelines)
