Neurogastroenterology and Motility Disorders Center Launches New Clinic for the Specialized Treatment of Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders (FGID)

Functional gastrointestinal disorders, or FGIDs, are a group of GI disorders with symptoms that cannot be attributed to any organic disease. FGIDs include irritable bowel syndrome, functional nausea, functional dyspepsia, abdominal migraine, cyclic vomiting, rumination and functional abdominal pain. Refractory symptoms can be disabling and severely affect a patient’s quality of life. For children with FGIDs whose condition is not improving under standard medical care, we can offer cognitive behavioral therapy combined with endoscopic therapies, medications, sleep hygiene recommendations, phytotherapy, dietary changes and neuromodulation. We work closely with the family – and with you – to develop a treatment plan specific for each child to ease symptoms and improve quality of life.

Our FGID Clinic team includes:

·      Gastroenterologists

·       Dieticians

·       Psychologist
