HealthVine FAQs

Why do I see multiple PCPs listed when I look at my CareSource patient chart in Epic Link?   When you view a CareSource patient in Epic Link, you may see the different types of PCPs listed below.

·         General PCP should be YOU and is the official PCP of record for Cincinnati Children’s. The General PCP listed reflects the name provided by families at registration at Cincinnati Children’s and the PCP that will be used on communications.

·         HealthVine PCP may or may not be you. The HealthVine PCP is the result of an electronic upload directly from CareSource of the PCP assigned by CareSource at the time a patient joins.  But do not worry! The HealthVine team is aware of the issue and is working with CareSource to update the HealthVine PCP field to the attributed PCP.  The attributed PCP is the PCP that selected by the family and/or verified through claims data. Currently, no communications should be sent to the HealthVine PCP, it’s only an administrative designation and in general, you can disregard it. We will be updating everyone once we have new data from CareSource. We are aware of some limited circumstances where communications are going to the HealthVine PCP which we are also working to correct.

What should I do if I notice the General PCP is listed incorrectly? If the General PCP is not accurate, contact your Practice Liaison who can make the update.  Practice Liaison’s contact information can be found here.  This is an important update!  Having the correct General PCP ensures accurate and timely communication pathway for patient encounters at Cincinnati Children’s.

If patients are incorrectly assigned to me as the HealthVine PCP what do I do? If you notice a patient incorrectly assigned to you under HealthVine PCP, please send an email to HealthVinePCPChange@cchmc.org. Unfortunately, unlike the General PCP, this field cannot be updated through Epic. CareSource has to provide Cincinnati Children’s with the data for that field. If HealthVine PCP is still incorrect after the data source is changed to the attributed PCP by CareSource, we will work with the patient family to submit a PCP Change Form so it can be corrected.
