Community Mental Health Resource Maps Now Available - Are you looking for community-based mental health resources? Social Services created a searchable map for OH, IN and KY that identifies community organizations, their contact info, insurances accepted, admission criteria, etc. Check it out here. This resource has been added to the Census Reports page in Weekly Vitals.

Highlights from the 2024 AAP Advocacy Conference - The AAP Advocacy Conference took place from April 14-16.  Almost 300 pediatricians and trainees from across the country traveled to DC to learn and practice advocacy skills and hear updates on key child health priorities.

State Laws Set the Tone for Safety and Risk of Suicide Among LGBTQ Youth- Data from a nationwide survey of LGBTQ youth reveals that state antibullying laws can have a protective effect – but only when those laws specify that students’ sexual orientation and/or gender identity should be protected.

Update on the Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) Program - Infants admitted to the Hospital Medicine service for poor weight gain have the opportunity to be enrolled in a remote patient monitoring program at the time of discharge. The program provides families with a scale to be used with a mobile app to track weekly weights and screen for issues like feeding intolerance, food insecurity, and improper formula mixing. The program is managed by a group of Cincinnati Children’s nurses and a dietician that partner with primary care providers.

New Mood Action Plan Tool; Your Feedback is Requested. - We are excited to share with you a new tool for mood disorders called the Mood Action Plan. The Mood Action Plan defines green, yellow, and red days depending on one’s symptoms and allows for customizable, planned “actions” to take in each scenario.

HealthVine Annual Report- Cincinnati Children’s HealthVine is excited to share its second annual report, which details milestones reached during its second 18 months of operation as a pediatric accountable care organization (ACO). Click HERE to read more.

Cincinnati Children’s Finalizing New Contracts with Indiana Medicaid - Cincinnati Children’s newest contract with Indiana Medicaid will be with Managed Health Services, an Indiana Medicaid MCO.  It is expected to be effective 5/1/2024 as they are still updating their systems for our providership.  This includes our participation in the following products:

  • Healthy Indiana Plan - Health-insurance program for qualified adults. The plan is offered by the State of Indiana.

  • Hoosier Healthwise – Indiana Medicaid

  • Hoosier Care Connect – (Indiana’s version of Ohio’s ABD)

New Specialities Now Available at Cincinnati Children’s Centerville - When Cincinnati Children’s Centerville opened in early 2023, we brought our world-class pediatric specialty care to thousands of families in the Dayton area. Now were expanding the range of services we offer at our Centerville location.
