Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library offers free books for all Ohio children from birth to 5 years
The Imagination Library is now available for all 88 Counties in Ohio through Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library (OGIL). On March 10, OGIL in Hamilton County will celebrate its second year of expanding to include all of Hamilton County. Before the expansion the program was only available in selected zip codes.
Through OGIL, all children in Ohio from birth to five years of age are now eligible to receive a free book in the mail each month! Parents and caregivers can enroll and learn more by visiting https://ohioimaginationlibrary.org/
While Cincinnati Children’s is administering the program in Hamilton County, OGIL is also available in all counties in Ohio. Imagination Library offers free, high quality, age-appropriate books, and there are no income restrictions for participants.
First Lady of Ohio Fran DeWine visited Cincinnati recently to announce that over 300,000 kids from across the state are enrolled in the Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library, more than any other state. Currently Hamilton County has over 26,000 children registered in OGIL, and enrollment is open for more participants. Please remember to promote reading with preschoolers and encourage parents to enroll their children in the Imagination Library.
The handout below contains a barcode that will allow parents to enroll their children in OGIL by using their cell phones. Please feel free to post in your waiting rooms and hand out to families.
Thank you for helping us reach all eligible children in your practices.
