Cincinnati Children’s Project ECHO - Behavioral and Mental Health Course Offerings for 2022
Behavioral and mental health concerns amongst children and adolescents continue to increase in prevalence while there is a critical shortage of specialists who can provide adequate treatment. Cincinnati Children’s Project ECHO (Extension for Community Care Outcomes) uses a guided-practice model that aims to improve patient access to care by training community pediatric providers to independently treat mild to moderate behavioral and mental health concerns in their own practices. This innovative tele-mentoring and case-based learning approach has proven to be successful, amplifying both provider knowledge and self-efficacy upon course completion. Learning is supported by psychologists, psychiatrists and primary care provider peers.
C2C – Anxiety: February 9 – May 18
Session topics include:
· Screening and diagnosis within pediatric primary care
· Brief, practical and effective non-pharmacological interventions
· Medication management
· Coaching Families in the use of basic anxiety management techniques and helping them access cognitive and behavioral interventions

New in 2022, we are offering three separate micro-courses that will be two months in duration with four session each. This will allow you to continue building knowledge with advanced educational didactics, follow cases longitudinally with direct consultative support from psychiatrists and psychologists, and learn tools and obtain resources to manage the medical and therapeutic components of mental health care. The cases reviewed will focus on a variety of mental health concerns not just depression and anxiety. Micro Course 1, on Advanced Pharmacotherapy, begins February 17 and ends on March 31.
