Construction to Begin on New Cincinnati Children’s Eastgate Facility -Construction on Cincinnati Children’s Eastgate will begin this Fall with an estimated opening of Summer 2025.

Dr. Alessandro de Alarcon, New Associate Chief of Staff for Periop-Surgery - Alessandro de Alarcon, MD, MPH, has accepted the position as Associate Chief of Staff, Periop-Surgery effective July 1, 2023.

Cincinnati Children’s Offers Driver Training for Teens with ADHD - Teen drivers, especially those with ADHD, are at increased risk for car crashes. As reported in The New England Journal of Medicine, Cincinnati Children’s has developed FOCALplus driver training that targets teen’s visual attention to the roadway. Teens with ADHD who received FOCALplus training experienced a 40% reduction in crashes/near-crashes. Families can sign up for FOCALplus training ($500 fee) by calling 513-636-8107.

Healthvine Update - Integrated Behavioral Health Program Seeking Pediatric Practice Partners - Demand for pediatric behavioral health services is at an all-time high, and access is more challenging than ever. Our Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) program is expanding, and we would like to partner with your pediatric primary care practice to help reduce the burden on pediatricians, who are often the first to identify behavioral health concerns.

Changes to Adolescent Privacy Policies - Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is adjusting policies pertaining to adolescent privacy beginning Sept 15, 2023.

Cincinnati Children’s: Global Leader in Ultra-Fast Radiation - Cincinnati Children’s is furthering its position as the global leader in FLASH Proton Therapy. In June, investigators in the Cincinnati Children’s/UC Health Proton Therapy Center launched the second clinical trial to test this ultra-fast radiation therapy in humans.  

Xenon MRI Launches at Cincinnati Children’s - Cincinnati Children’s has become the first hospital in the nation to image a patient with XENOVIEWTM, a novel xenon (Xe) gas blend that enables a safe and detailed view of lung ventilation, since its FDA approval for ages 12 and older in December of 2022. Read more about this exciting new development in this recent issue of Research Horizons.

Register Now for New Webinar "Trauma Updates for the PCP" - Cincinnati Children’s is hosting a free live webinar "Trauma Updates for the PCP" on Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 7:00-8:00am (EDT). This webinar will feature short updates from Cincinnati Children's faculty and staff with an opportunity for Q&A. Topics will include: “Cervical Spine Clearance Update”, “Solid Organ Injury Follow-up”, and “Blunt abdominal Trauma Evaluation and Follow-up."
