Ohio Medicaid Updates: Redetermination

To support members ahead of upcoming Ohio Medicaid eligibility updates, help ensure their contact information is up to date. Below are three ways members can update their information:

  • Call (844) 640-6446. After selecting the option for their preferred language, they should select option 2 and will be prompted to enter their zip code

  • Individuals with an existing Self-Service Portal (SSP) account can report changes online at https://ssp.benefits.ohio.gov. After logging in, click the Access my Benefits tile, then click Report a Change to my Case from the drop down and follow the prompts

  • Contact their County Department of Job and Family Services (CDJFS). Ohio Medicaid members can find their CDJFS on the County Directory https://jfs.ohio.gov/County/County_Directory.stm

General Updates: Flovent Prescriptions

For your asthma patients currently on or about to start Flovent, there is a new generic version of Flovent now on market.

  • For CareSource Medicaid Members: Brand-named Flovent is still on the formulary; when writing Flovent scripts for your patients with CareSource insurance, make sure to indicate “Dispense as Written” (DAW) to avoid potential denials.

  • For Other Marketplace Members: Marketplace plans will prefer the new generic of Flovent (Fluticasone Prop HFA)

General Updates: Clarification - CareSource Marketplace Ohio/Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center Contract Change

Practices received a notice from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center about its CareSource Marketplace Ohio contract ending as of July 31st, 2022. To clarify, this contract is NOT the CareSource Medicaid plan, and Cincinnati Children’s will continue to see CareSource Medicaid patients.  Furthermore, the contract termination with the CareSource Marketplace Ohio plan will not have any impact on the HealthVine delegation agreement with CareSource.
