Alumni Weekend 2024 - A Weekend of Reconnecting and Celebration





Cincinnati Children’s Alumni Weekend was an incredible multi-day celebration filled with reconnecting, networking, and creating lasting memories with our alumni community! From March 15-17, alumni from near and far gathered in the Cincinnati region to reminisce, meet new faces, and enjoy a range of exciting activities alongside their families.
The weekend included an educational session, the annual Medical Staff and Alumni Dinner, and social activities around the Cincinnati area. Nearly 285 alumni and family members joined in the festivities. representing 11 states and 26 programs and specialties.
Friday kicked off with an engaging Pediatric Update education session, sponsored by the Cincinnati Pediatric Society. The Practical Dermatology and Skills Workshop, was presented by the Cincinnati Children’s Division of Dermatology, where nearly 60 participants experienced a half-day hands-on and didactic presentations on diagnosis and treatment of common pediatric dermatology conditions.
The pinnacle event of the weekend, the annual Medical Staff and Alumni Dinner, was a joyous occasion recognizing two Outstanding Alumni Award winners: Dr. Maria Alonso and Dr. Charles Schubert. Alumni also congratulated Dr. Michael Farrell on his 50th year at the hospital! 185 alumni and guests gathered at the Grand Ballroom in Covington, KY, and enjoyed an interactive, engaging dinner. After the dinner and presentations, guests enjoyed a Bourbon Tasting, Ice Cream Social, and music provided by Study in Brown, a band with members from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and local artists.
Saturday was packed with social activities hosted by the Cincinnati Children’s Alumni Association, offering opportunities to reconnect and forge new connections. Alumni also joined us for a festive St. Patrick’s Day parade viewing event, followed by a social gathering at Bircus Brewing.
