Chris Peltier Receives Pediatrician Advocate Award from Ohio AAP

At the 2021 Annual Meeting in October, the Ohio Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics (Ohio AAP) awarded the William H. Cotton, MD, FAAP Pediatrician Advocate Award to Chris Peltier, MD, FAAP. This award honors a pediatrician who is a strong pediatric legislative advocate.

Dr. Peltier is a pediatrician at Pediatric Associates of Mount Carmel, an independent community practice in Cincinnati. He is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and serves as the Director of the Community Section in the Division of General and Community Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. His main academic interest is in medical education. He precepts medical students and residents in his office. He has presented numerous faculty development workshops both regionally and nationally, as well as leading education and quality improvement projects through the Ohio AAP where he builds content and materials. Dr. Peltier worked closely with Ohio AAP and the DeWine administration during COVID-19, advocating for well care, immunizations, masks and other critical child health areas to reverse the impact of the pandemic.

“The Ohio AAP and our members thank Dr. Peltier for his time, talent and dedication to the health and safety of Ohio’s children,” said Melissa Wervey Arnold, CEO of Ohio AAP. “Through his social, print and digital media presence and engagement, he has impacted not only other pediatricians, but also families in assuring them of the health, safety and importance of masks, well visits and immunizations. Ohio media outlets know who to call when they need a pediatrician; Dr. Peltier.”
