Communication in Telehealth Compared to In-Person Care
A research team led by Ellen Lipstein MD, MPH, primary care physician and researcher, is studying how interactions between primary care providers and families differ between telehealth and in-person care. Specifically, they are interested in whether the mode of health care delivery impacts how patients, parents, and doctors work together to manage chronic conditions. To study this they are looking at telehealth and in-person visits for children ages 5-17 with asthma or ADHD. The research team wants to include community practices in this study to be sure the results reflect diverse primary care practices, not only hospital-based ones. If your practice is using telehealth for any ADHD or asthma visits, please reach out to Ellen Lipstein (ellen.lipstein@cchmc.org) to learn more about the study.
